Akshay Gandhi is a Partner at Cedar Bay.  In this capacity, Mr. Gandhi has both origination and portfolio manager responsibilities. 

 

Mr. Gandhi brings a strong track record of structuring and investing in debt and equity transactions in industry segments such as real estate, hospitality, and technology.  Prior to joining Cedar Bay, Mr. Gandhi founded Thread Ventures (and its affiliate VVG), an equity investment platform that took principal positions in companies in sports and leisure, hospitality and real asset spaces.  Through VVG’s advisory services, Mr. Gandhi also led capital markets processes, M&A activity, and underwriting analysis across transactions exceeding $100m in enterprise value.  Prior to founding Thread Ventures, Mr. Gandhi was a Senior Vice President at Olive Tree Holdings, an institutional real estate private equity platform, and a Partner at Olive Tree Ventures.  At Olive Tree, he was responsible for the leading the firm’s capital events (equity recapitalizations, restructurings, refinancings, dispositions) process on over $1bn in transactions.  He co-founded Olive Tree Ventures, a Proptech venture capital platform that partnered with early-stage founders to successfully build targeted B2B sales systems that multiplied revenues within 12-18 months. 

 

Mr. Gandhi holds an MS in Real Estate Finance from NYU’s Schack Institute and a BBA in Finance and International Business from The George Washington University School of Business.
